Anti-immigration Groups along with Arizona's Gov Jan Brewer have been pushing hard to have troops sent to the border because of "all the so-called crime spilling over". But crime reports show that violent crime has decreased in Arizona for the last four years, cops along the border see no rise in crime, and Gov Jan Brewer finally came out and admitted that she lied about the beheadings. Even the "kidnapping capitol of the world" claim is false. Some of these groups claiming this rise in crime are in states no where near the border like in North Carolina (ALIPAC).So will Anti-immigration groups finally admit that troops are not necessary?

Phoenix is over 150 miles from the Arizona/Mexican border yet, cops from Phoenix like Sheriff Joe Arpaio are very vocal about illegal immigration and have conflicting stories when it comes to illegal immigrant crime and border crossing numbers. What they say about illegal immigrant crime is totally different from what cops say that patrol border towns. Most border town authorities say that crime has not gone up and numbers are exaggerated, they don't see all the violence Phoenix cops talk about at the border, and especially the beheadings that turned out to be a lie. So who should we believe when it comes to illegal immigration; cops patrolling border town, or cops 150 miles away with conflicting stories and statistics?==============================

NOGALES, Ariz. - Assistant Police Chief Roy Bermudez shakes his head and smiles when he hears politicians and pundits declaring that Mexican cartel violence is overrunning his Arizona border town.
"We have not, thank God, witnessed any spillover violence from Mexico," Bermudez says emphatically. "You can look at the crime stats. I think Nogales, Arizona, is one of the safest places to live in all of America."
While smugglers have become more aggressive in their encounters with authorities, as evidenced by the shooting of a Pinal County deputy on Friday, allegedly by illegal-immigrant drug runners, they do not routinely target residents of border towns.
In Yuma, police spokesman Sgt. Clint Norred said he cannot recall any significant cartel violence in the past several years. Departmental crime records show the amount of bloodshed has remained stable despite a substantial population increase.
Even Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever, among the most strident critics of federal enforcement, concedes that notions of cartel mayhem are exaggerated. "We're not seeing the multiple killings, beheadings and shootouts that are going on on the other side," he said.
"I think the border-influenced violence is getting worse," Villasenor said. "But is it a spillover of Mexican cartel members? No, I don't buy that."

According to Juan Varela's family, SB 1070 isn't just a civil rights travesty: it has also caused the death of at least one Arizona Latino.
Varela was shot dead after an argument with a white neighbor, Gary Thomas Kelley, over Arizona's harsh new anti-immigrant law. Despite the fact that Varela was a U.S. citizen — in fact, he was a third generation American — Kelley allegedly yelled before shooting Varela, "You fucking wetback! Go back to Mexico!" Back? When he was born in America? Varela's family blames the extreme anti-immigrant, anti-Latino sentiment caused by fear mongering around the passage of SB 1070 for the death of their loved one.
The Phoenix Police Department has finally decided to charge Kelley with a hate crime, after initially refusing to do so, raising the ire of Varela's family and friends. That the crime occurred in Maricopa County, home to Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who spends so much time chasing down undocumented immigrants he doesn't have time to prosecute violent crimes, gives both a sense of the extreme anti-immigrant climate and why law enforcement would be loathe to admit to what appears to be an obvious anti-Latino hate crime. I don't know about you, but I think shooting a person after shouting a xenophobic racial slur has hate crime written all over it, and I'm glad that the Maricopa County Attorney General's Office now agrees.
Varela's murder isn't the only one with links to SB 1070. Two other Latino men were killed near the Arizona border earlier this month, and while some reports have tried to pin the crime on drug smugglers, there are two additional details to the story that suggest otherwise.

The city I live in right now is like 80 percent White and 18 percent Black. So I am kind of the only Indian here. Changed me in many ways though, I don't sound Indian (no Indian accent), parents aren't traditional so they don't care what race or ethnicity I date and I am not a Hindu.

what should i do with my remaining neon tetra?
i had 6 neon tetras, but 5 of them have either been killed or they died. the one that was left has been bitten. i dont want to add anymore to the big tank. the only other tanks i have are a 10 gallon (divider in half) and a 3 gallon (will be housing a betta)i was thinking about putting in with my red betta phoenix, but the only problem is its only 5 gallons (he is in 1 half of the 10 gallon) and i know neons like to be in groups of 6 or more.

How to file a complaint against an apartment complex (phoenix)?
I asked management 3 times before i signed the lease if they had a bug problem and they assured me they didnt and that they spray the complex every week. My first night in, i saw 2 roaches and the number has just kept climbing. I spent $20 on raid, and perimeter spray, which only aggitated them out of their corners and I find them everywhere! They are in my closets, bathrooms, kitchen, etc. My daughter is eating breakfast and there's a roach crawling on the wall, it's so disgusting. I complained to management and have received 3 different responses (we never told you it was roach free, you dont have roaches, you dont have a big problem). Management here is a nightmare and they dont want to do anything about it. On top of all that, my closet doors dont have screws in the hinges, stove doesnt work properly and there are holes that i later discovered under poorly patched work. so a little background..
I have been having issues with certificates and youtube videos loading. my internet is 15mb download speed. and i use to be able to load 1080p youtube videos in about 10 seconds or less. now i have to pause and go make dinner on some of them to be able to watch without it pauzing to load. I have also noticed that my computer will spend an hour or so moving a 20gb file from one hard drive to another... this use to take about 3 to 4 minutes TOP... sometimes less then a minute.
BUT.. i recently upgraded to windows 7 and i feel that since then my PC performance has been sub par. (but ony in some areas... i can play hardcore computer games at full graphics like Dirt 2 without error) so i am thinking that maybe my Motherboard and my bios are not up to date for windows 7. i dont know how to update them.. i am not sure how to find out what type of mother board i even have...
the main problem is that when my computer is not running any programs according to task manager.
and i try to move a big file it will take a long time... but my processor and my memory monitor never has them above 10%... why wont my computer use more of its memory and processor... (thats why i have more of them i might as well have 2 gb ram it wouldnt be any different.)
any thoughts?
extra info... my computer defrags the harddrive every wednesday... and this install of windows 7 is only about a month old.

HiSo i currently live in Phoenix, Arizona and at the end of September am planning on moving up to Seattle with one of my friends, i am 20 and he is 19 and this is both our first moves by ourself's. Now my mother has agreed to back me financially for the first few months (she would do longer but i want to pay for it on my own) while i find a job, now my friend is tagging along on this move as i said and will bum on my couch for awhile, until he finds a job, then our plan was when we both had incomes to get a 2br place together, but the problem is i cant figure out how to get to that part, by that i mean where we will stay until then, i have looked into some sublets / temporary housing on craigslist, but most wont work for us, and for that matter, are exceptionally more expensive than they should be, the reason i was looking at that as a housing method is so i wouldn't get caught up in a lease i wouldn't be able to get out of when the time came to get the 2br place, i mean from some of the pricing i saw on the sublets / temporary housing i might as well just rent the 2br place off the bat, im looking to hopefully not spend more that $800 not including things like utility's on the 2br (before we split the cost) which seems easy enough though i still might get a 1br place because it would be cheaper to start, but then i gotta figure out about the lease sublets / temporary, i figure we will need at least till the end of December to get a steady income to afford (is it possible to get a 3 month lease?), also the problem is i will not be able to see any of the places until we get up there, so what should i do about that? please i need some advice on what i should do, I've planned as much as i can, but now i'm up against a wall, anything would be helpfull

They have already sued the State of Arizona and two counties in Arizona. In Sept 2008 ICE gave Joe a clean bill of health saying his actions were proper when it came to handling illegal aliens. And In Mar 2009 Eric Holder started investigating Sheriff Joe again. Now they are suing Joe Arpaio. And their complaint? He's not providing them with enough records.It looks to me if the Justice Department wanted to REALLY do some good they would be leaving Joe alone and doing more to catch illegals.

Signs in Arizona warn of smuggler dangers

The federal government has posted signs along a major interstate highway
in Arizona, more than 100 miles north of the U.S.-Mexico border, warning
travelers the area is unsafe because of drug and alien smugglers, and a
local sheriff says Mexican drug cartels now control some parts of the
state.
The signs were posted by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) along a
60-mile stretch of Interstate 8 between Casa Grande and Gila Bend, a
major east-west corridor linking Tucson and Phoenix with San Diego.
They warn travelers that they are entering an "active drug and human
smuggling area" and they may encounter "armed criminals and smuggling
vehicles traveling at high rates of speed." Beginning less than 50 miles
south of Phoenix, the signs encourage travelers to "use public lands
north of Interstate 8" and to call 911 if they "see suspicious
activity."

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer condemned what she called the federal
government's "continued failure to secure our international border,"
saying the lack of security has resulted in important natural
recreational areas in her state being declared too dangerous to visit.
In a recent campaign video posted to YouTube, Mrs. Brewer - standing in
front of one of the BLM signs - attacked the administration over the
signs, calling them "an outrage" and telling President Obama to "Do your
job. Secure our borders."
BLM spokesman Dennis Godfrey in Arizona said agency officials were
surprised by the reaction the signs generated when they were put up this
summer.
"We were perhaps naive in setting the signs up," he said. "The intention
of the signs was to make the public aware that there is potential
illegal activity here. But it was interpreted in a different light, and
that was not the intent at all."
He said there should be "no sense that we have ceded the land," adding
that no BLM lands in Arizona are closed to the public.
"I kind of liken it to if I were visiting a city I were not familiar
with and asked a policeman if it were safe to go in a particular area,"
Mr. Godfrey said.
Rising violence along the border has coincided with a crackdown in
Mexico on warring drug gangs, who are seeking control of smuggling
routes into the United States.
Mexican President Felipe Calderon has waged a bloody campaign against
powerful cartels, yesterday announcing the arrest of Texas-born Edgar
"La Barbie" Valdez - a powerful cartel leader captured outside of Mexico
City on Monday evening.
More than 28,000 people have died since Mr. Calderon launched his
crackdown in late 2006, and the bloodshed shows no sign of ending. Law
enforcement authorities have been warning for more than two years that
the dramatic rise in border violence eventually would spread into the
U.S.
T.J. Bonner, president of the National Border Patrol Council, which
represents all 17,500 of the Border Patrol's front-line agents, said
areas well north of the border are so overrun by armed criminals that
U.S. citizens are being warned to keep out of those locations.
"The federal government's lack of will to secure our borders is
painfully evident when signs are posted well north of the border warning
citizens that armed and dangerous criminals are roaming through those
areas with impunity," he said. "Instead of taking the steps necessary to
secure our borders, politicians are attempting to convince the public
that our borders are more secure now than ever before.
"Fortunately, some responsible civil servants are candidly warning the
public about the dangers that exist not just along the border but, in
some cases, well beyond," he said. "This situation should alarm all
sensible people, and should spur endless demands that our legislators
take whatever actions are necessary to restore law and order to these
areas."
