Looking at moving to Albuquerque New Mexico?
Hubby got offered a good job. Looking for info on neighborhoods, schools, culture, etc. Currently in Phoenix, AZ. Noticed foreclosure rate is a lot less than here. ANY input would be appreciated. We would especially love to know about public transit. Here it doesn't exist but I am originally from Portland, Oregon where it was great. Love to know neighborhoods to look into and to avoid. Going on a trip this coming Friday to check it out.THX in advance.

Spiritually Speaking -- how to better manage my time?
Between my commitment to snark at the R & S section, dry humping Batty, messing around with that Goddess Phoenix, chatting with Eartha -- my gay husband Glow demanding attention -- and general Y!A madness -- I have become World of Warcracked-out with my older two kids. My facebook friends and family are starting to complain about my ignoring them and not giving them their desired doses of snark. Add that to my Twitardness and my following of about 30 different Twismut fan fics . . . that I cant even keep straight . . .I was up at 3:30AM doing dishes (and leveling up my 31 Night Elf Priest -- Holla!). The laundry is piling up. My two year old son is running around in a blue shirt, a black & white skirt and a Freddie Kruger mask. I could care less. At least his diaper is clean! I am so tired I am shaking. I care nothing for grammar!
Do you think it's high time for a vacation? Anyone want to put me up for a week?

Foreign Exchange Students in America?
I live in Phoenix, AZ , which is a sister city to Tokyo, Japan.I really love Japanese culture and I was wondering if anyone knows of a foreign exchange program to where I could visit japan and live with a family for about a week, or whatever.
I'm only 13, and I know I probably can't go at my age, but even if I could go when I'm 16, I want to plan it out now.
Where should I go to find this information, or do you already know of something like this?

Pytanie #6:
How can I leave my violent habits behind?
When I was young I grew up in a rough neighborhood. A kid from Jacksonville, Florida moving into Phoenix, Arizona was just messed up to people. It was a huge culture shock, and I was forced to adapt. I've never been able to fully be one with my peers and neighbors (usually). Eventually, my natural outspokenness and outright disapproval of many of my peers/neighbors led into a ton of fights. I won't state the specific number for two reasons. A) you wouldn't believe if I told you, and it's not worth my time to try to convince you and, B) I don't know the exact number, give or take 3-4 fight. Surmise it to say it was ugly. I was talented in fighting, had 6 years (in the end) of martial arts under my belt, and grew stronger, taller, and faster than most of my classmates. Occasionally my temper snapped, like all young adults, and I would end up making a situation that turned into a fight even worse. Occasionally people were hurt, some hospitalizations, and many, many restraining orders and expulsions were handed out. The principals knew me personally- I always had a staff member watching me specifically during my free time (lunches, after school, before, etc). That wasn't merely me thinking 'the system was against me'- they asked my parent's permission first. I was too good at getting out of punishment and making sure they threw the punch first, so I was never truly punished, even though more than half of the schools fights during my tenure involved me. It didn't really prevent fights, and eventually one ugly massive one took place in 8th grade. I never could guess how many were involved, but my guesstimate is about 10-12. Long story, won't explain. Suffice it to say my opponent pulled cheap shots on my friends trying to defend me, then tried something very stupid- he'd had a switchblade within reach in his jacket the whole time. He later claimed he hadn't intended to use it, and had just found it. Anyways, the sight of an actual weapon in the hands of someone who was brutal on his own pushed me truly off the edge- I've never lost my temper like that. He was evac'd by a helicopter with oxygen masks over his mouth. At the sight of it, many of us involved had turned on him, so no one could ever pin anybody with a specific injury. All I know is I dislocated his arm, broke his wrist, ankle and nose, and flipped him (MA remember) into the crowd where they took over. He was in the hospital for about a month or two, then promptly put in Juvie. After that the arguments died down, fights stopped happening, and things cooled down. Immediately I noticed a slight change- people's perceptions. When I'd arrived, I'd built a very good reputation among my more cool-headed peers. I didn't exactly fit in with them, but they respected some of my actions. The fights many blew off as me defending myself- which, in essence, was correct. I may have antagonized it, but I never started the fights in actuality. I was usually fair, nice, respectful, etc. Goody two shoes. Then, once the fights got too ugly, people had changed their minds. I changed to fair and respectful still, but brutal, efficient, and downright scary. No one other than the few friends I've invited in are comfortable around me, and even some of them do their best not to get me angry. I've cooled down now, I'm less argumentative, and am trying to regain a normal life. But it seems I can't. My body is stuck in the fight part of flight or fight responses. I watch crowds cautiously (I've been jumped too many times to count), jump if someone surprises me (not normal jump- I'll leap out of the area, turn to look at them, and usually make an angry sound), and am hyper-aware. I react extremely fast to sounds and smells and can usually smell/hear something my friends cannot. I'm constantly tense, like I'm preparing for the next problem. Every day when I take a shower I am still shocked by the number of scars- from many, many different ways each- and how I'm constantly ready to fight. My mind can't think of almost anything but it. In my dreams, I can't kiss the girl I want. It turns into spinning and ducking and dodging. Most of my classmates are terrified of me- even the bigger, more fit guys (I'm 143lbs, 5'10").How can I just let it all go? It seems to be central to my nature. I'm so tense I have to see a chiropractor twice a week, and she can barely help. PLZ?? I just want out of this.
PS: Sorry, kind of rambling/venting.

Your opinion should the Catholic Church Denied Communion to anybody supporting AZ new immigration law?
A longtime Catholic scholar is suggesting that bishops consider denying communion to Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and other officials who support the Arizona immigration law.Anthony Stevens-Arroyo, religious author and outgoing director of Brooklyn College's Center for Study of Religion in Society and Culture, wrote in a column that Catholic leaders are holding back in their condemnation of the law, opening them up to charges of hypocrisy. Given that bishops have in the past threatened to withhold communion to officials who support abortion rights and other issues that run counter to church teaching, Stevens-Arroyo questioned why they weren't applying the same practice here.
"In the face of hideous injustice, words are not enough. Will any of today's bishops deny communion to Catholic officials who vote for this bill and its spawn of imitators in other states? Has censure been voiced against the local sheriff Joe Arpaio (a Catholic) who has led raids on Latinos?" he wrote, while adding that he doesn't personally support denying political figures communion.
Arpaio is the Maricopa County sheriff both loved and loathed for his crackdowns on illegal immigrants in the Phoenix area. He is facing renewed attention, including from religious groups, after he announced this week that he'll launch another raid as soon as the law goes into effect July 29.
The Arizona Ecumenical Council is urging the sheriff to stop what it calls his "excessive, wasteful and divisive campaign."

How bad is it really in Phoenix in the summer?
I'm in Michigan and our winters are AWFUL...bone-chilling cold...0 degrees...below zero wind-chill...I love warm weather. I don't like humidity so much (who does?), but that's the type of heat we have here, and I'm grateful for any warm weather. How hard is it to adjust for a person from the Midwest? Is the "dry heat" really easier to tolerate? I do know that when we have "dry heat" here -- a 90 degree dry day is more tolerable than a 75 degree humid day.
What sorts of culture shock would I experience?

What do you think of the book i am writing so far?
Ok its needs improvement, im going at this from an original prespective. As the story goes on it will switch from present to past. Tell me what you think so far, this is the PrologueThe Fellowship of the Rogues
Prologue:
A man walks forward in the dimly lit room. His brown hair was cropped up to the top of his ears, his brown eyes had a scar going across the right eye from an accident long past. He is wearing a pair of black jeans, a long sleeve muscle shirt, with a Kevlar vest over it, a pair of combat boots, and a black duster.
The room is lit by a small lantern in the corner seated upon a crate. In one corner there is a bed, in another corner is a desk with a small laptop on it. The man walks towards the desk and pulls out the chair, he sits down and turns on the laptop.
He begins to type on the keyboard. "My name is Daniel Hampins, I am 32 years old. It is 2028, 6 years after the Great War. Before the war I was a professor of Archaeology at the University of Phoenix, I specialized in ancient languages but i had training in other fields at the time as well. While I was there I was told about something that was discovered in Egypt. I was one of the few Scientists that were permitted to work on the dig. Me and the other scientists boarded a plane leaving from Phoenix and arriving at Cairo International Airport. From there we took a pair of desert jeeps to the dig, the drive there was the longest 4 hours of my life. With Gerald (one of the scientists that specialize in carbon dating) who kept talking about the possibilities of what they could have dug up at the dig and how old they could be. Some ideas he had were ancient alien artifacts, an alien ship that may have crashed hundreds or thousands of years ago, or gateways to some ancient city that were thought to be legends or myths such as El Dorado, or Atlantis. When he was finished i explained to him that El Dorado was supposed to be in South America, and that Atlantis was supposedly a sunken island in the Atlantic Ocean.
After a rigid silence for 3 hours, we were all glad to finally be at the dig site. The lead Archeologist at the dig showed us to the astonishing discovery. We walked up onto a wooden ramp that went around the pit, once we got to the end we peered down. In the center of the pit was a stone door that went down into the sand. Upon the door were ancient writings, from what I saw I could say that they most definitely were not Egyptian.
They had brought me here to translate the writings. I was to remain at the dig for the time that they were working on it, I didn't ask why, but I was fine with it. I have figured that it's easier to translate when you have the writing in front of you. After 2 days I had translated as much of it as I could, I was really excited of what I had discovered, as were the other scientists. The language was a mix of Hebrew, Egyptian, and some other unknown language. Which means at one their cultures had to meet, unless they were all derived from the same culture. Anyways the translation read like this:
"Thy...with...impure heart...perish...undying agony,...Thy with...pure heart...enter will obtain...Magnificent..."
I was unable to translate the rest, but the other scientists and I had decided that the door led to an ancient tomb, with an artifact of some kind inside. And that anyone with an impure heart will die upon entering, three of the scientists volunteered to go in. We opened the door, honestly I had expected a bunch of bats or swarms of locusts to fly out, but nothing came out. The three scientists walked down to the door, in one step they all walked in at the same time. As soon as their feet hit the ground on the other side, there was a blinding flash of light, and three loud screams. We were horrified, we saw our colleagues faces melted off, while they were still alive. They were in horrid agony, One of the guards pulled out his pistol and shoot three shots into the door way. The three scientists dropped but disintegrated on the way, leaving a huge pile of dust in the door way..."
Thanks were the answers so far,i am going to try to extend it so it doesn't look rushed haha, i was in a hurry to get to the present

International/Interracial Adoption?
Let me start by saying that I believe children belong with their biological mothers first and foremost. If that's unable to happen children should be with extended family, a family of similar culture/heritage, and beyond that a home where they are loved and nurtured. We also want to adopt, not because it's the "right thing to do", "we prayed about it", "our church was adopting a group of orphans, so....why not?!", or "God told us to", but because I feel this at the core of my being. My family and I are considering international adoption from Ethiopia. I have two sons and have been married for six years. We became attached to the idea of adoption after issues of infertility. I have thought about adoption from a young age. When I met my husband he was indifferent, he is now very supportive and excited. Thankfully, we were able to have two biological children. Years later we are still thinking about adoption and discussing it on a regular basis. I feel the time is near for us to make a move and would just like the opinions (negative and positive) of those who have adopted, are adopted, or just want to tell me what they think. I know a lot of people in this forum are anti-adoption, and I do value those opinions as well. I cannot begin to imagine the pain of adoptees, and don't pretend like I can ever understand. I have researched and found what I believe to be an ethical adoption agency (Hope International). If I were a mother unable to parent my child I would want my child to go to a loving and supportive home, no matter what the race or religion of the new family, as long as they were deeply and truly loved, supported and nurtured.
A few of my questions for adoptees (especially if interracial) is how did you feel growing up and strangers looking at your family wondering why you weren't the same color? How do you feel about it now?
Adopting from Ethiopia....I'm sure an adopted child will one day want to visit their homeland, want to find their family and have lots of questions. What if something like this isn't possible in a country such as Ethiopia? I'm not sure what kind of background information is given to the agency, and I hear that many children are abandoned (which throws up in huge red flag in my opinion and gives me the thought of baby buying/stealing). So to the adoptees- what if you were never able to discover your past or understand why you were adopted? How would you feel?
I'm white. My family is white. My best friend is biracial and adopted as well, also an aunt figure to my children, so I feel I would have someone close that would be understanding. However she is not Ethiopian. I wouldn't want to give a child a "white-washed" version of Ethiopian culture either. Any suggestions there? I live in the Phoenix area, and from what I've found there isn't any kind of cultural center here. I've found an Ethiopian Orthodox Church...would "white" people be welcome and embraced?
I have fears of being a adoptive mom, wondering is love really is enough (Ok, seriously, some of the posts on this site have scarred me shitless).
My family and I want this very badly, and I want to make 100% sure this is the right choice for us as well as for the adoptee. So I'd like to hear the good, the bad and the ugly (and don't personally attack me, please).
Thanks!

I just found out that my cousin is bisexual?
I am mexican, hispanic or whatever. I don't know spanish. It's from my moms side, and I have a very close warm connection to her.We go to El Paso, every year. Twice. Once for Christmas, and once during the summer for weeks on end.
Its fun. I dwell in the hispanic culture down their.
Mexican music, farm animals, spicy torillas, parties etc, most importantly, family.
I have grown quite close to my moms side of the family.
And thus, I have a very close relationship with my cousin Joaquin. Joaquin.
He is very good looking. He is popular, fun, and happy. His family is cool. He is right now, living with his moms side of the family up somewhere in Phoenix. For life experience, you know? New environment and such. He is a life guard as well as swimmer. He is very smart. Get's amazing grades in school. All A's, and maybe one B :P
He is hilarious. He makes me laugh so easily. He is so random.
And okay, for example I said" Joaquin, you are soooo random" in a harsh demeaning tone, (I was playing around, you know?)
And he said "I am random, theirs always a conversation when I'm around"
That's the kind of humor that is within him. He funny. He has a really cool style and grace. Wears rocking fashionable cloths. Has a great tan. Listens to all kinds of music, except mariachi music. He prefers heavy metal rock like TOOL.
He is just...awesome. That sums it up. He is popular with the family. Always fun and happy. Can talk to anyone practically. His zodiac is cancer, which is quite surprising.
Well anyways, um yeah. One word sums it up, awesome.
I look up to him. And he is always talking about girls, not like always...but you know?
He is so simply awesome.
We grew a lot closer to each other this christmas.
He accidentally took my camera, well I left it in his backpack...well anyways.
I had to call him, track him, myspace him, and everything to get it back. I did.
I myspaced him.
And...he was cool.
And then a long while later, like 5 months later, I check his myspace. Just to see, you know?
I checked it, on lite view.
And...I see his friends. I see his status. Everything.
And I see, his sexual orientation as Bi
I was shocked. I thought he was maybe joking you know?
I never ever thought of him as bi. It was weird. For me.
I was sure he was joking. Or maybe I wanted to believe he was joking.
I checked his friends, checked everything. He had all guys and 2 girls in his top friends.
About 3 guys were not wearing shirts on. You know that kind of stuff, right?
And...I checked one of the guys who was in his underwear 0_o
And I check his photo...and see a comment from Joaquin.
Dam, Sexy Canadian/Polish fuck :p. Your soooo adorable in this one.
I was shocked and freaked out.
My cousin is officially bi?
I never thought of him that way.
He always just seemed so cool, and always was with a girl, you know?
He swims...a lot. Speedos, skin, bodies, changing rooms, maybe that's why he is bi?
It shoudlnt affect how I think of him? So what? It doesnt change who he is.
It shouldnt matter. He still is the person whom I love.
My cousin.
Its just so bizarre, such bizarre weird feelings and emotions.
I dont know anyone gay nor bi. And to know my cousin is?
His friends without the shirts on, were swimmers.
Omigosh, this should not affect me. But it does.
Its weird. I should just grow up, and respect. Why cant I? Just because I found out?
I don't know. I feel at odd ends here.
Next time I see him in the summer, should I confront him and talk to him about all of it?
I messaged him, asking him a question about proactive...and asked him of his sexual orientation, and told him I was okay with it, just to let him know.
I feel odd. Awkward. Its not right. I shouldn't feel like this,
Man, this is so crazy.
I do accept it.
But it still makes me feel funny.
And I think he is hiding it maybe.
How can I accept something like this? It makes me think different of him now.
I won't look at him the same way again.
I wish I could accept him fully. But their is space of unacceptable. I can't accept how it goes against of what I thought of him. But I must, I shall.

Shawna Forde, Minutemen Leader, Arrested In Double Killing In Arizona
PHOENIX — Two of three people arrested in a southern Arizona home invasion that left a little girl and her father dead had connections to a Washington state anti-illegal immigration group that conducts border watch activities in Arizona.
Jason Eugene Bush, 34, Shawna Forde, 41, and Albert Robert Gaxiola, 42, have been charged with two counts each of first-degree murder and other charges, said Sheriff Clarence Dupnik of Pima County, Ariz.
The trio are alleged to have dressed as law enforcement officers and forced their way into a home about 10 miles north of the Mexican border in rural Arivaca on May 30, wounding a woman and fatally shooting her husband and their 9-year-old daughter. Their motive was financial, Dupnik said.
"The husband who was murdered has a history of being involved in narcotics and there was an anticipation that there would be a considerable amount of cash at this location as well as the possibility of drugs," Dupnik said.
Forde is the leader of Minutemen American Defense, a small border watch group, and Bush goes by the nickname "Gunny" and is its operations director, according to the group's Web site. She is from Everett, Wash., has recently been living in Arizona and was once associated with the better known and larger Minuteman Civil Defense Corps.

What do ships symbolize across cultures?
So I've been some personal searching across the internet about what ships mean?As some examples:
Dragons in Asian culture = good luck, power, prosperity
Dragons in Western culture = great evil, power
The cross in western culture = usually signify your allegiance (in some way) to Christianity (unless stated otherwise).
The number 4 in Chinese culture = death, bad luck
The phoenix = reincarnation
The sickle = usually something to do with farming/grim reaper.
So what does a ship symbolize? I've trying to look for that in google but haven't found anything definite. Any answers out there?
Pytanie #22:
what would a chines dragon have as a p.e. class?
Chinese dragons are legendary creatures in Chinese mythology and folklore, with mythic counterparts among Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and Turkic dragons. In Chinese art, dragons are typically portrayed as long, scaled, serpentine creatures with four legs. In contrast to European dragons that are considered evil, Chinese dragons traditionally symbolize potent and auspicious powers, particularly control over water, rainfall, and floods. In yin and yang terminology, a dragon is yang (male) and complements a yin (female) fenghuang "Chinese phoenix".The dragon is sometimes used in the West as a national emblem of China. However, this usage within both the People's Republic of China and the Republic of China on Taiwan as the symbol of nation is not common. Instead, it is generally used as the symbol of culture. The dragon is also a symbol of power, strength, and good luck.
Historically, the dragon was the symbol of the Emperor of China. In the Zhou Dynasty, the 5-clawed dragon was assigned to the Son of Heaven, the 4-clawed dragon to the Zhuhou (seigneur), and the 3-clawed dragon to the Daifu. In the Qing Dynasty, the 5-clawed dragon was assigned to represent the Emperor while the 4-clawed and 3-clawed dragons were assigned to the commoners. The dragon in the Qing Dynasty appeared on national flags.[1]
In European-influenced cultures, the dragon has aggressive, warlike connotations and it's conjectured that the Chinese government wishes to avoid using it as a symbol, but most Chinese disagree with this decision.[2] Westerners only sometimes confuse the disposition of the benevolent Chinese dragon with the aggressive Western dragon. In Hong Kong, the dragon is part of the design of Brand Hong Kong, a symbol used to promote Hong Kong as an international brand name.[3]
Many Chinese people often use the term "Descendants of the Dragon" (simplified Chinese: 龙的传人; traditional Chinese: 龍的傳人; pinyin: lóng de chuán rén) as a sign of ethnic identity, as part of a trend started in the 1970s when different Asian nationalities were looking for animal symbols for representations.[1] The wolf was used among the Mongols, the monkey among Tibetans.[1]
In Chinese culture today, it is mostly used for decorative purposes. It is a taboo to disfigure a depiction of a dragon; for example, an advertisement campaign commissioned by Nike, which featured the American basketball player LeBron James slaying a dragon (as well as beating up an old Kung Fu master), was immediately banned by the Chinese government after public outcry over disrespect.[4]
In Chinese daily language, excellent and outstanding people are compared to the dragon while incapable people with no achievements are compared with other, disesteemed creatures, such as the worm. A number of Chinese proverbs and idioms feature references to the dragon, for example: "Hoping one's son will become a dragon" (望子成龍, i.e. be as successful and powerful as a dragon).
the quetsion is what would a chinese dragon have as a p.e. class

Among the thousands who marched Saturday in Phoenix to protest what they claim is unjust treatment of Hispanics by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio were Mexican indigenous dancers, students, families and friends.Xavier Flores of Phoenix called the "We are Human National Day of Action" march democracy in action. Thousands marched from Falcon Park in west Phoenix, south on 35th Avenue, to Arpaio's Tent City Jail. "Once we got to Durango, people got really emotional, got upset and were giving the cops the one-finger salute," Flores said. "It's good to be able to show your frustration and get those frustrations out. It's a shame that people who are voted in and in charge of our societal well-being are letting individuals abuse their power."

Before the march, Flores said he was talking to a Mexican immigrant with blue eyes and light skin who didn't speak English.
"How can they tell me from someone else who looks like me? How they can tell us apart? If you're going to check for illegal status, you should look for all people. Mexican people are all colors," Flores said.
Members gather to celebrate their indigenous cultures through dances and ceremonies in a big blue building on Seventh Street, south of Roosevelt. They call their home base Nahuacalli, which means House of the People, House of the Four Directions in the Aztec language, Nahuatl.
"They were looking forward to the march for the last few weeks," Reyes said of his children. "This isn't the first march they've been to. We practiced their chants, "Sí se puede" (yes, it can be done). Everything that we do is family based."

How important is your Happy Meal… Phoenix?
I don't care if all the drivers here came from somewhere else. Didn't we all learn from the same manual, or is Arizona corrupt in that area too? Don't we all have to pass the same test to get our licenses?I've come up with some theories on, and may even start teaching, "Driver Psychology" since I spend most of my time looking in the rear views, and after all... "Hindsight is 20/20".
Allow me to list a few of the "Obstacles" and then follow up with my "Solutions"
OBSTACLE :(
- Lane Changing: People here SPEED UP and go IN Front of the car next to them, in Colorado we SLOW DOWN and get Behind the car. (after all I'm getting off the hwy. which implies eventually stopping anyway.)
SOLUTION :)
- I like to do the Good 'ol "Switcheroo" on 'em; speed up to make ‘em think I’m gonna get in front of ‘em (Causing driver McSneerly to speed up also) then I slam the brakes to let 'em pass and feel cool about being a jerk, and before they can counter act, I slide in right behind 'em!
OBSTACLE :(
- Our Tailgating Culture: Speaking of changing lanes, I'm forced to FORCE my way in. When attempting the Good 'ol Lane Change, drivers on the side will spot the blinker and respond by Speeding up! (I love it! It's kinka like saying "Ew yer not gettin in front of me!")
SOLUTION :)
- Haven’t got one, so refer back to “Lane Changing” (but being an electrician, I’ve mentally drawn up plans to install 3 more horns on my car so all 4 sides are covered)(Love layin on the horn!)
OBSTACLE :(
- Intersections: This one could go for days, but I'll keep it short. When the arrow turns Red, people "Ride each others' Coattails" squeezing 2 or 3 more cars through, and nobody eggs these people!! Or how about when the yellow light goes to red and the “turners” blocking the intersection bring their train through while my light is now green! (I just need a heavy duty grill guard) P.S. the “turners” can’t turn cuz the “yellow light runners” are bringin their train through, resulting in a late, but persistent train of turners who MUST TURN due to the blockage of the intersection.
SOLUTION :)
- Purposeful Ignorance receives a Bird and some Cow Bell! (Although it has little effect, I love layin on the horn!)
OBSTACLE :(
- Phoenix is a grid: So why do so many Chicken Headed drivers fly across the street to make their exit? I always enjoy the wake up call of an unexpected “Cut-off maneuver”, but when they then lay on the brakes I find myself wishing I had a dozen eggs handy! (Cuz I throw left handed)
SOLUTION :)
- My Happy Meal is not a life or death situation, so realizing that just 1 block up there WILL BE another chance to turn around always brings a sigh of relief, realizing that my happy meal will still be there, oh sure, it’ll be under that heat lamp for a whoppin 45 seconds longer, but at least I didn’t wreck or get my car egged by pulling stunts just to get there as quick as humanly possible.

Tattoo design opinions *please don't answer if you dislike tattoos*?
I am reposting this in hopes to get actual opinions about design ideas.I believe in life to the fullest rather than live by fear. If you fear of what may happen in the future such as getting old and having a saggy/trashy tattoo then you will never express yourself to it's potential nor experience what life has to offer. This is about a cultral art, not about gaining attention. You are cosmetically educated if you think otherwise because I coun't care less about someones opinion on if I should get one or not. I choose to view the world as if this may be my last days and try to experience everything life has to offer with someone who likes me for me. We are all entitled to our own perspective. This is my next stepping stone in life as an adventure junkie and culture seeker to express my own experiences.
23 and I've decided to get a tattoo, but I'm having trouble with deciding which direction to take within all my ideas. I'm trying to fuse classy and dark together and I can't seem to get it to fit. It always turns out too girly or too Goth. I tend to go black and white with a color accent, but I can change my outlook with a great idea.
These are some of my ideas to incorporate (not looking to do all but just all around ideas):
*Painting type of tattoo (not an actual copied painting, this is artistic expression of art not some run of the mill, spur of the moment, pick off the board)
*A strong tree type of tattoo (I'm all in the life and death, strong and grounded, delicate and harsh, guess I'm a fan of contradictions)
*Phoenix (fear it's over used)
* Quote a passage/literature that I like ex.: some thing from Edgar Allen Poe
I know I should ask a tattoo artist, but I kind of want to have some kind of cohesion of ideas before I go and feel out tattoo artists. Trying to come up with a cohesion of ideas is where my problem lies because I want impact, yet meaningful. I'll take all ideas/ex. into consideration, I'm open minded, in hopes it will strike an idea. Oh and I'm looking to use my back as my canvas.
Thanks a bunch!

Why Doesn't Obama Replace Director Mueller at FBI?
Should Mueller's Job as Head of FBI be Under Review? The FBI messed up so many leads in the case of the Fort Hood shooter and the common thread seems to be Political Correctness which is a mindsset that starts at the top in any Federal Agency.
Mueller made the FBI so politically correct that Hasan's links to known terrorists were not worth investigating, they were deemed innocent and protected.
There was a lot of sheer negligence too, don't get me wrong, this was not all Phoenix memo style errors. The FBI and DOD worked very very poorly together. No leads were followed up -- it's a lot like the mentally deranged shooter at Virginia Tech two or three years ago. There were clues all over the place, but everybody just passed the "hot potato" along hoping to get rid of him before he messed up bigtime.
It's a combination of Political Correctness as the Corporate Culture at the FBI created and led by Mueller, and slackadocious conduct all up and down the line in 10 chains of command.
I don't know how many people should be fired, but I think a Presidential Performance Review of FBI Director Mueller is highly appropriate at this time.

Good day. My name is Claire and I am a student at Salsbury in the USA.
I am calling you because I am in my last school year and I am following the course Office Management. I would like to do my internship in Germany.
I am 25 years old and I live in the USA. I had some work experience as an Office Manager during summer jobs. During my internship I must put the theory I learnt into practice.
I would like to do my internship in Germanay because I want to expand my work experience abroad and I would like to settle in Germany in the future. By doing my internship in Germany I will have the experience and know more about the German culture. After my internship I would also like to go to the University of Hamburg.
I have seen a vacancy of the company Dillon FBF. I think Dillon FBF is an interesting company to work for because you also help against aggression and violence and help to coach people at companies. Dillon FBF is a company for and by people and that is the type or organization I would like to work at Dillon FBF not only to complete internship but also to expand myself as a person.
Can I ask you a few questions?
How do I deal with contracts and licenses when if work in Germany?
Do you know of any possibilities to rent a place near Dillon FBF during my internship?
Would you like to contact my references?
I worked at AIG Finance as an Office Manager for four months and helped to organize the new office.
I worked as a customer service representative at SN banking in Phoenix. I learned how to deal with tough clients and had a course in coaching.

We (me,42 and my wife,32) live in midwest, next to Chicago area. We just want to learn more about the urban life in Phoenix/Scottsdale are. How lively is restaurant/bar scene? Are there a lot outdoor cafes/restaurants? How urban is the city culture? Is the downtown walking friendly or everything is widely separated so you need to drive to get from one point to another? Is the society cosmopolite or mostly homogeneous? We here live long, brutal winters but is the extreme heat over there bothersome for most people too? Thank you very much for your replies.

Where is the best place to raise a family? (Cost of living is a consideration)?
We are thinking about moving in 2 years and starting a family. We currently live in the city of Chicago and need to be by a city for his field of work.We LOVE living in the city because of the culture, diversity and people. We like the theatre, mom & pop restaurants as well as 4-5 star restaurant choices, and raising our kids in a multi-cultural area is important to us. We want a good school system with a lower cost of living then in Chicago (more house for the family). We think suburbs are the first choice near a city...like many new families.
We would like to live next to water....Chicago winters have taken a toll on us....but I would still like to have seasons (this is not a deal breaker if we don't live where there are seasons). We do earn a good income, so we have more options in where we can live....but we would like to have our dollar stretch just like everyone else. We are considering Phoenix, AZ; Tallahassee & Destin, FL; Durham, NC; Portland, OR; Denver, CO; Virgina Beach, VA and San Antonio, TX.
Any advice or thoughts on great places? Please include what you think of where you live....I appreciate any input you can offer!

Anything BUT pepsi………
Reasons for the boycott
AFA asked Pepsi to remain neutral in the culture war, but the company refused — choosing to support the homosexual activists.
Pepsi has made no effort to hide their support for the homosexual agenda:
1. American Family Association asked PepsiCo to be neutral in the culture war and not support the homosexual agenda. PepsiCo refused. The company continues to give financial support to homosexual organizations. PepsiCo gave $500,000 to Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and another $500,000 to the Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). The total of $1,000,000 was used to help promote homosexuality in the workplace. HRC and PFLAG were major supporters of efforts to defeat Proposition 8 in California, which defined marriage as being between a man and a woman. HRC gave $2.3 million to the effort to defeat Prop 8.
2. PepsiCo requires all employees to attend sexual orientation and gender identity diversity training where they are taught to accept homosexuality.
3. PepsiCo helped sponsor the TV program Family Guy which pushs the homosexual agenda and denigrates Christ. In one episode, at a straight meeting, a speaker talks with gays about Jesus and tells them, "Jesus Christ, who hates many people, but none more than homosexuals."
4. PepsiCo supports homosexual publications, which feature page after page of nude and semi-nude photos of men in suggestive positions, with advertising.
5. PepsiCo gave thousands of dollars to join the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, an organization that lobbies for homosexual marriage.
6. PepsiCo sponsors "gay pride" parades across America, including New York, Atlanta, Dallas, Phoenix and Cleveland.
7. PepsiCo, while promoting the homosexual agenda, refuses to give one penny to help those trapped in this destructive and unhealthy
Pepsi products include Gator-aid, Ocean Spray, Fruit works juice, Aquafina, Sierra Mist, Mountain Dew, Starbucks, Lipton, Amp Energy, Mug Root Beer, 7 up, Sobe, Tropicana, Quaker oats, Frito-lay, Doritos, Tostitos, Lays, Fritos etc…

Are there any Italian or seafood restaurants in Phoenix?
I moved to the valley a year ago from Boston and this is one thing I can't stand about Phoenix. The only type of ethnic restaurant they have here is Mexican. (and even that isn't as good as the Mexican I've eaten in the Northeast).A better question would be: are there any restaurants in Phoenix that aren't chain restaurants? All I see here is McDonalds, Burger King, Sonic, Dominos etc.,
It seems that if I want a submarine sandwich, I have only two choices: Subway or Quiznos. Back in Boston, I used to be able to find a great sub shop on almost every street corner, family-owned, organic ingredients. Here everything is so commercialized and there is no culture.
Note: when I ask for 'Italian' and 'seafood, Olive Garden or Red Lobster is not an acceptable answer.

Bobby Orr Against Hamilton Too?
Excerpts from a CBC Radio interviewBobby Orr Speaks Out
On Jim Balsillie
- I think what he's doing is bad for the game. I've talked to several players and GMs and everybody just wishes he would go away. He's going about it all wrong, and has been going about it all wrong for several years.
On people's suggestions that Balsillie start a Canadian league and put the NHL under
- I laugh at that suggestion. I represent several players currently, and very few of them have any desire to play for a Canadian team, despite the players being Canadian. Taxes are too high and revenues are too low. Teams failed in Winnipeg and Quebec because they didn't have owners who could afford them. The players will follow the money, and that will always be American
On Hamilton as an NHL city
- I don't think it would fly. I've got friends and family in the area and the ones I've talked to have no interest in switching allegiances. Look at New York...........you still have trouble finding Islanders and Devils fans...and that area is three times as big as the GTA. I'm not even convinced that a 2nd team in Toronto would survive. The Leafs draw well and are a licensing machine, but Canadian corporate culture isn't big on supporting professional sports
On the Phoenix situation
- I think Jerry Moyes needs new lawyers. I think he has been given bad advice all the way through this. I'm not saying that Phoenix is the best place for an NHL team, but the players love playing there and it's a great city. There have been numerous times where a team has fallen by the wayside and come through it in flying colours. I remember when the Red Wings were moving to Dallas. I remember when the Blues were moving to Saskatoon. I remember when the Penguins went bankrupt in the 70s and and the 90s. In all 4 cases, the teams were on their way out of their respective cities but ownership/management changes turned the situation around. The Blues have the most consecutive years of turning a profit right now. The Red Wings haven't missed the playoffs in almost two decades. The Penguins have made it to two consecutive Stanley Cup finals. The right people can get it done in Phoenix.
NHL Expansion
- I think it's inevitable. I could use a few more clients, and the clients I have could use more choices. The NHL is at an all-time high in popularity right now and there are several cities that want it. I read how the lockout destroyed the NHL but I see no proof. Unlike baseball which took several years to reach the pre-strike attendance levels, we set a new attendance record the first year back. We set a revenue record the first year back. We have more profitable teams than any other professional sport in the world aside from the NFL. Our American media coverage is higher than ever.
On being an NHL GM
- Never say never but it's not for me. I enjoy what I do now, and I see myself continuing
On Phil Esposito's cooments
- I agree with him 100%. People need to realize that it's a business and that it's not personal. Phil has a mind and has always been free to speak it, and sometimes he needs to be heard.

question about school colors & mascots?
is it just me is the color combination red, white, & black REALLY common for schools? i'm now in high school and those are our school colors, but they were in middle school, as well. also, what about the bear for the mascot thing? the middle school i went to the mascot was the bruin (which is a bear), at another middle school close to me the mascot is the grizzly (bear) and now my high school is a bear. i also know in Phoenix at Bashaw High their mascot is a bear. is it just an Arizona thing or is this everywhere?(btw, im not sure where to put this question, so im just gonna put it in society & culture)

Some questions re: life in rural Arizona?
I'm looking at moving to rural Arizona to work/live on a cattle ranch. This would be about two hours NW of Phoenix. If you live there, or have lived there (anywhere in the vicinity), can you give me some idea of what it's like? What kind of animals/insects should I be aware of that could be potentially dangerous? How much bad weather can I expect (ie: tornadoes)? Thanks, and anything else you can offer for info is appreciated.

Yeah, I look forward to being close to the GC. I've been there, but more is always good. Powerball? LOL, I guess I can still play it occasionally. Thanks again.

White girl in black culture?
I am a white 22 year old girl. I have a couple black female friends that I go to clubs with on the weekends occasionally. The past couple weekends, we went to Stoudemire's, a club in downtown Phoenix. I was one of 5 white people there, but it doesn't bother me because I have no problem with different races. I don't want to come off ass accusatory, I'm just merely asking. The past two weekends at this club, I was touched very innapropriately on many occasions, told that I don't belong here, men would comment about my breasts and butt to my face, and was the subject of rudeness by many of the females. When I go to clubs in Scottsdale, and it happens to be mostly white people, if a group of black individuals come in they aren't treated the way I was treated at Stoudemire's. Why is it when the tables are turned, it's so different. By no means am I judging an entire race by the acts of a few individuals, I'm just questioning a common trait I've found over the past few weekends.By the way, I have a white boyfriend since that seems to be such an issue
I apologize for calling it "black culture" I would like to ammend my question by calling it "hip hop culture"

Am i wrong?, racism issue?
i was born in a small white community (as am i) and moved to phoenix, AZ after fifth grade, ive always been raised to be open minded and accepting of different people, and i am. After being exposed to different cultures its wonderful and im glad i lived in PHX, now im back in this little white town and after finishing senior year hear im utterly disgusted with the racism here i hear nigger this nigger that, wetback this wetback that but they listen to T.I. and tech nine (which is ridiculous, its all about The game, Nas, eminem, biggie and pac) and visit mexican food restaurants more than any other type. But yet they seem to be friendly to the few black people here and then say stereotypes and racial slurs....wtf is going on, im so fed up with the ignorance here im called a whigger because i wear fitteds and champs pro tees (not tall tees) levis and skate shoes and also listen to metalcore...so i went off on a myspace bulletin blasting all these kids about how if they were to run their mouth in a city with different races they would get their shit rocked how that how can they dare slam another culture when all they are exposed to is a redneck culture. People got pissed at me and said i had no right to say that, even my friends...Was i wrong to say this? My defense is that racism is not something i take lately and im not gonna let it slide just so people dont get mad at me.n!gger for the first 2 stars and w-back for the second set

Who's to Blame in Sex Assault of Girl? Father says Nobody

Sexual Assault Scene
PHOENIX - The President of Liberia is voicing her opinion on an Arizona story creating outrage around the world.
After an 8-year-old Phoenix girl was sexually assaulted by four boys last week, police said her parents blamed their daughter for the attack.
The parents also apparently said their daughter had brought shame on the family.
Those four boys are now under arrest, and the young victim is in Child Protective Services, away from her mom and dad.
The President of Liberia called into CNN on Friday morning, saying rape is a problem in Liberia as well as the United States.
"This is not a question of shame on a family.. it's a question of assault on a young child and that can not be tolerated," said President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.
"I think that family is wrong," she added. "Clearly, [the boys] are doing something that's no longer acceptable in our society...We just want to make sure the parents take care of that child and to make sure she is put in a situation where she can be administered to, can be loved and cared."
Earlier this week, the girl's father told ABC15 he loved his daughter and planned to get her back.
"I need her back, I want her back, and they (Child Protective Services) said I can have her back in three months," he said.
The father also said the family moved to the United States five years ago from West Africa and they don't understand the United States' criminal system.
When asked what he wants to happen to the suspects involved in the assault against his daughter, he answered, "nothing."
Police are exploring what impact culture may have played in the incident and in the parent's response.
(Phoenix Police)
The four sex assault suspects in the crime apparently lured the girl into a vacant shed near 43rd Avenue and Thomas Road last Thursday by offering her chewing gum, said Phoenix Police Sgt. Andy Hill.
They then restrained her, and sexually assaulted her for 10 to 15 minutes, according to Hill.
Officers were called to the scene after receiving phone calls about the young girl screaming, and running out of the shed partially clothed.
Arriving officers said they saw several boys running from the scene, and were able to detain one and later identify three more.
Hill said all the boys, ages 9, 10, 13 and 14, have been arrested and put in a juvenile corrections center. All four have apparently admitted to planning the assault and have been charged in the case.
One of the boys, identified as 14-year-old Steven Tuopeh, is being tried as an adult for the crimes, facing two counts of sexual assault and one count of kidnapping.
The 13-year-old suspect is accused of three counts of sexual assault, and one count of kidnapping. The 10-year-old is accused of two counts of sexual assault and one count of kidnapping. The 9-year-old suspect is accused of one count of sexual assault. All of the crimes listed are class 2 felonies.
According to authorities, the girl's parents said they blame their daughter for the assault and for bringing shame on her family.
A relative at the girl's home said the statement was untrue but declined to elaborate.
According to the victim's family, the 8-year-old victim wanted to go to a party and left the home.
"Looked around, I look around and she was not here," said the 8-year-old's father.
Femi Babarinde, an African Studies professor from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, said it is normal to feel shame because of a rape in the family in the Liberian culture.
"When you look at the shame culture in African societies it basically means something negative happened and it affects not only that individual [the victim] but the family and extended family," said Babarinde. "They may be reacting to the attention that this will get and the knowledge of this within the community that could be a source of embarrassment."
Babarinde said if CPS decides to give the girl back to the family, her parents will need intensive counseling.
"Part of the counseling will be to have them understand that this is a different setting and a different environment in the United States. Laws are in place and, if things like this happen, it's criminal behavior and one the family will have to understand. It will not go unpunished. And part of the healing process is for the family to rally around the girl herself," said Babarinde.
Many of you are sounding off about the story in the comments section at the bottom of this page.
"I don't know who are the worst animals here, the boys or the parents," said ABC15.com reader StayathomeMom.
