According to Juan Varela's family, SB 1070 isn't just a civil rights travesty: it has also caused the death of at least one Arizona Latino.
Varela was shot dead after an argument with a white neighbor, Gary Thomas Kelley, over Arizona's harsh new anti-immigrant law. Despite the fact that Varela was a U.S. citizen — in fact, he was a third generation American — Kelley allegedly yelled before shooting Varela, "You fucking wetback! Go back to Mexico!" Back? When he was born in America? Varela's family blames the extreme anti-immigrant, anti-Latino sentiment caused by fear mongering around the passage of SB 1070 for the death of their loved one.
The Phoenix Police Department has finally decided to charge Kelley with a hate crime, after initially refusing to do so, raising the ire of Varela's family and friends. That the crime occurred in Maricopa County, home to Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who spends so much time chasing down undocumented immigrants he doesn't have time to prosecute violent crimes, gives both a sense of the extreme anti-immigrant climate and why law enforcement would be loathe to admit to what appears to be an obvious anti-Latino hate crime. I don't know about you, but I think shooting a person after shouting a xenophobic racial slur has hate crime written all over it, and I'm glad that the Maricopa County Attorney General's Office now agrees.
Varela's murder isn't the only one with links to SB 1070. Two other Latino men were killed near the Arizona border earlier this month, and while some reports have tried to pin the crime on drug smugglers, there are two additional details to the story that suggest otherwise.

When U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton ruled on Wednesday that key provisions of Arizona's new anti-immigration law were unconstitutional, she could have also declared them unnecessary. That is, if the main impetus behind the controversial legislation was, as Arizona Governor Jan Brewer said when she signed it in April, "border-related violence and crime due to illegal immigration." The fact is, despite the murderous mayhem raging across the border in Mexico, the U.S. side, from San Diego to Brownsville, Texas, is one of the nation's safest corridors.
According to the FBI, the four large U.S. cities (with populations of at least 500,000) with the lowest violent crime rates — San Diego, Phoenix and the Texas cities of El Paso and Austin — are all in border states. "The border is safer now than it's ever been," U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokesman Lloyd Easterling told the Associated Press last month. Even Larry Dever, the sheriff of Arizona's Cochise County, where the murder last March of a local rancher, believed to have been committed by an illegal immigrant, sparked calls for the law, conceded to the Arizona Republic recently that "we're not seeing the [violent crime] that's going on on the other side."

I have a problem with interlock ignition device after a decade of loss, it is not enough debt to Arizona..?
In 1998 I picked up and ended my commercial apprenticeship with The Helm Corporation a Mechanical Contractor out of Denver and run a residential new construction Plumbing company with an endless number of Cracker Jack Box Homes to plumb. My Dad after 25 year Master Plumbing Career got licensed, bonded and insured a company of his own, got his "foot in the door" with a huge tract home developer in the epicenter of a booming housing market that transplanted 3 million Americans into Metro Phoenix and surrounding cities from 1980-2000... I learned every Phase of residential new construction plumbing underground's, top-out's, trims and that residential construction homes go up fast and cheap and after work I enjoyed frequenting a circuit of club's and bar's. I had racked up 3 DUI's by the motion of continuance to put off the damage(at the time a day in jail was damage) as long as I could from the first 1, and the 2nd, then I picked up the 3rd DUI in June 2001 and was book into jail with $30,000 bond, Indicted by a Grand Jury, and served threeClass 4 Felony's... June 25 2001 I was sentenced to the AZ DEPT. OF CORRECTIONS and released Feb 2004 with 4year's of probation. Let's say the 25 year old go getter that went on the Grey goose tour of Arizona wasn't the same and probation didn't last long... After a sick animal is rehabilitated and caged up the animal doesn't act the same after the "release" and most won't reintegrate back into the wild, right??? I was released Sept 2007 with 5 month's of parole, same old story except a few more of a man's greatest year's down the tubes violated parole and sent back to finish 3 month's of the parole completing the DOC term's for the DUI's. The beginning of my incarceration I was booked and sent to level 5, 4, 3 yard's throughout the years. Those last 3 months I had a spiritual awakening... I came to a point where I realized my life would never be and I could waste away in prison turning old and frail... Today I'm 34 and just passed the 12 month's of interlock ignition I was sentenced to with no alcohol fails, in fact I have been clean since 2007... last month I was late blowing into the machine on 3 separate occasion's due to a faulty ignition in my 4runner and still blew 000's 7, 8, and 9 minutes after the 3 requests to submit... The device locked up and I had to go to the calibration site, charged $75 and told the mvd would contact me about an extension which I soon received in the mail extending the interlock devise for another year. I requested a hearing with the Executive Hearing Office held yesterday over the phone. The judge can void the extension or continue the sanction. The violation is tampering to circumvent the IID in which I explained would be impossible to catch a buzz during the three 7, 8, and 9 minute period's that I didn't submit a sample... and blow 000''s directly after... I also explained that I have had no violation since fixing my ignition cylinder. The judge will vacate the extension directly after I send the receipt from the mechanic that fixed the ignition and I will be finished with those dui's from 2000/2001 completely... Now I can't find the receipt and have been thinking of forging one just to finally be rid of this... I left a message with the judge around 4pm yesterday and haven't heard anything back... I need some good suggestion's because the thoughts I'm having are unstable and self defeating but if printing up a receipt that I lost and faxing it to her can't hurt, right??? Do you think she will call the mechanic??? She said she just needed the document to write her decision out... My mechanic is sketchy and doesn't want to deal with the court's so this is what really foul's me up... If I tell the judge my mechanic doesn't want to deal with the court's what is going to think??? I think she said a 3 day hold is in place towards the end of the hearing, I hope that means I have 3 day's to fax the receipt???
I would like to thank you in advance for spending some time getting to know my dark past and ask that comment's are respectful and directed to solving the problem not what I could have done differently because the past is gone and I can't change it but I can recommend frequenting your local library's, find out what law's politician's are making, current event's, learn the law's that apply to you, there are MANY... I wish I would have known not having a license aggravated a DUI from a misdemeanor to a Felony...
Since I can't pick them all, I will do my best to choose what I think is the best solution...

They currently have the second-worst record in the National League with 53-79 (.402), ahead of only the Pittsburgh Pirates.The Arizona Diamondbacks are historically an average team. WWE NXT Season 3 Rookie/Pros?
Season 3 NXT has practically been confirmed with ScyFY cams at FCW. So now, with the very high speculation about there going to be four divas/males on season 3 NXT, which won't work out well, but is almost certain. Who do you think will be the rookies/pros for this next season? Be realistic with your answers and give reasons. Mine are;Diva's:
Celeste/Ricki Vaughn w/ Gail Kim Or Beth Phoenix
Why: Ricki Vaughn or formerly known as Celeste on the Indy circuit was recently signed to FCW. She reminds me of a blonde Angelina Jolie, so she is gorgeous. Even better though she has amazing in-ring ability. She can be the face of WWE Diva's for a very, very long time like Trish Stratus and has the tools to do it, starting on NXT.
Her Pro: Beth Phoenix or Gail Kym, are veterans of wrestling. That is what Ricki Vaughn, needs to compliment her to become a star in the WWE. Giving her someone like Laycool, Kelly, or Maryse would be an embarrassment simply on the fact that they don't appeal as wrestlers as much as those two.
Naomi Night w/ Alicia Fox
Why: If they do have divas on NXT, it would only make sense that the Florida Diva's Champ was there to represent.
Her Pro: Alicia Fox and Naomi Night would make a great pair due to their spunky attitudes. With Alicia Fox recently as Diva's Champ, she should be a good candidate for a spot on NXT, teaching Naomi either how to be more spunky or becoming BFF's.
AJ Lee w/ Chris Masters
Why: AJ Lee is the Queen Of Florida, (King Of The Ring, but in FCW and for Diva's) and is probably the second best in-ring after Ricki. She is "WWE ready", with great all around attributes.
Her Pro: There will probably be one male teaching a diva, and a great fit would be AJ Lee & Chris Masters. Reason is the job would be given to a low-carder, hence Chris Masters, and a nice guy so that a relationship or friendship could be bonded. AJ Lee is a nice girl and they would be perfect for eaching kayfabe, or IMO real life. Those two are very likely, especially with Chris Masters being on S3, being very likely.
Aksana w/ Kelly Kelly
Why: With Liviana as GM in FCW now, I don't see her coming up, leaving only Aksana inlease WWE brings in a Indy. They'll need another heel rookie diva to go along with Naomi so that should work.
Her Pro: The reason for this pairing is that I doubt WWE will miss the chance to have Kelly Kelly peform on NXT. Now would probably be a great time with their being four pro's as divas. Kelly Kelly would also be a nice face/heel pairing.
Johnny Curtis w/ Ted DiBiase
Why: This guy has been wrestling in dev and indy's for over 11 years, more then three years with FCW. He is half of the tag-team champs, and deserves a spot on NXT.
His Pro: Ted DiBiase will most likely find a spot on NXT this season if not next. Nothing special about the pair just very sincere.
Xavier Woods w/ Eve Or Evan Bourne
Why: Consequences as some people may know him from his TNA day's his a very exciting wrestler that is also very polished. No doubt he's ready for NXT!
His Pro: Evan Bourne and Xavier pair up like a red rose and a pink rose. They are so similar and would be very exciting to watch both of them. WWE may want a diva paired with a male rookie, and Eve would be a nice diva-fit for Xavier.
Mason Ryan w/ The Hart Dynasty
Why: Mason is FCW Heavyweight Champion. Alex Riley and Wade Barrett before him..see where this is going? He's going to be on NXT and will be a star on there. Too much of a star possibly.
His Pro: That'll take two to tame him. Hart Dynasty will be a nice heel/face pairing and will provide more male wrestlers on the show, and a tag-team like Laycool were.
Tyler Black w/ Jack Swagger
Why: Tyler Black was recently signed and is a prized possession. Star factor: 100. Winner of NXT S3: Very likely.
His Pro: Jack Swagger has been notched down a bit as a Main-Eventer giving the All-American American someone to praise his talents too. Who better then Tyler Black the best wrestler in FCW now, and a internet-sensation as Micheal Cole likes to say. Cole will praise Swagger and berate Black, bringing back memories.
Alternate Hopeful: Brett DiBiase w/ Ted DiBiase or Maryse
Why: Brett is a great wrestler who has been in FCW for over two years. No doubt he belongs in NXT and would be apart of my 8 if it weren't for one thing. He has a torn ACL, which has so far been healing for four months, but isn't a 100% yet. WWE would probably wait for S4 for him, that way he can get it fully healed, and wrestle with it for awhile. However, there still could be a chance and it would DEFINITLY be nice to see him in NXT.
His Pro: Obviously Ted DiBiase would be a nice choice since they are brothers, but then a great storyline for NXT hit me. He could be paired with Ted's girlfriend Maryse. Ted and Maryse would both be Pro's on WWE but Ted would be advising another rookie, while Maryse advises Brett.
The Storyline:
Maryse bonds with Brett over her tenure as his pro. She eventually falls for him, as he does her, in secret. Brett never got any money from his dad so in essential he is poor. However Maryse realizes
that it is true love and forgets all about the "money". Ted finds out in outrage and "grabs" Maryse and beats down Brett. Ted treats Maryse like dirt, and Brett stands up to him. By this time Brett would have made it to final four, and for the rest of the season they continue to feud with Brett winning NXT and beating Ted in the feud. This would be an epic storyline for NXT and is what it needs for sparks. If not S3, it would be a good idea for S4, although obviously unlikely.
If WWE decided to do 8 male wrestlers, people like Drake Brewer, Tito Colon, Hunico, Bo Rotundo would be in there. If not this season, then next.

PHOENIX – In correspondence sent yesterday to U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton, Governor Jan Brewer has condemned the “Universal Periodic Review” report submitted to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. Governor Brewer has requested that Secretary Clinton amend the report to the United Nations to remove theparagraph on S.B. 1070.In her letter to Secretary of State Clinton, Governor Brewer stated “Simply put, it is downright offensive that the State Department included the State of Arizona and S.B. 1070 in a report to the United Nations Council on Human Rights, whose members include such renowned human rights ‘champions’ as Cuba and Libya.”
Governor Brewer additionally stated, “The idea of our own American government submitting the duly enacted laws of a State of the United States to ‘review’ by the United Nations is internationalism run amok and unconstitutional. Human rights as guaranteed by the United States and Arizona Constitutions are expressly protected in S.B. 1070 and defended vigorously by my Administration.”
The State Department’s report takes credit for the “…sophistication and breadth of [the United States’] anti-trafficking efforts” while in fact many human rights problems are occurring because of the decade-old or more enforcement policy by the federal government to secure the border in San Diego and El Paso and leave the Tucson Sector less secured. This policy choice forces the illegal immigrant trafficking across the harsh Arizona desert resulting in life-and-death consequences. Governor Brewer stated that “If the federal government secured the entire border and enforced our immigration laws, these human rights problems would not be occurring for citizens, legal residents and illegal immigrants.”
Members of the United Nations Human Rights Council are set to review the Administration’s
controversial and unprecedented report later this year. The letter to the Secretary requests that the Administration amend and remove the offensive section of the report relating to the State of Arizona and S.B. 1070. If not removed, Governor Brewer stated that “the State of Arizona will fight any attempt by the U.S. Department of State and the United Nations to interfere with the duly enacted laws of the State of Arizona in accordance with the U.S. Constitution.”

What qualifications are there for finanical aide for living expenses?
I'm thinking about going to University of Phoenix and using their online course programs. I want to go to school fulltime, because I can't work and go to school. I know this about myself that my grades will plummit if I do both. I want to focus only on school work. What are the qualifications for financial aide for living expenses? I refuse to to go to school unless I know for a fact I can get aide to cover the rent every month. I just can't do work and school at the same time. I have trouble focusing on more than one thing at a time, so it's school or work. Not both. I want the education. Is getting aide for paying your rent and putting food in your fridge hard?FYI - dont' waste my time giving your opinon of University of Phoenix. PHOENIX -- The Obama administration is deporting more illegal immigrants than even before, undermining blasts by Republicans, including Gov. Jan Brewer, that it is failing in its duty to deal with the problem.
Statistics put together by the Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse at Syracuse University show that more illegal immigrants were removed from the United States during the first nine months of this fiscal year than during the same period in 2008. That is when Republican George W. Bush was in the White House and his administration controlled Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
In fact, the number of those ejected from the country between Oct. 1, 2009 and June 30 of this year is nearly twice as much as it was in the same period ending June 30, 2005.
The TRAC report also shows that the Obama administration is devoting more of its resources to removing those who have committed serious crimes.
Brewer's criticism of the Obama administration has been egged on by others. That includes former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin who said just days ago, "if our own president will not enforce our federal law, more power to Jan Brewer.'

jazz school for country guitar?
I'm a GED holding 17-year-old looking to pursue a BM in jazz guitar but I need some help finding a school. My passion is country music however I think learning jazz would be extremely beneficial to expanding my knowledge of music theory and the fretboard. My three choices right now are Belmont in Nashville, ASU here in Phoenix, and UNT in Denton, TX.-Belmont seems like the best choice because I'd be right in the heart of Nashville and closer to the type of music I want to play. They've also got a Commercial Music major which I'd surely take advantage of.
-I'm instate for ASU and I don't need to pay for a dorm since I'll be living with my cousin. I can also get a certificate in Arabic.
-UNT is certainly one of the most competitive but I've heard it was a great school.
Ideally I would learn western swing by myself and not sink into insurmountable amounts of debt at a 4 year institution. If you've got any western swing books or DVD's I should check out let me know.
Also, any suggestions other than the three schools provided must be in the south/southwest (so no Berklee's or Amherst's) and obviously consider the fact that I have not finished high school and won't be able to provide an SAT till next year.

Moving into my new battle-zone required breaking out my old weapon,,, the rake and I raked up pounds of cat excrement and still can smell the funk 2 days later... I have waged an all out war against organized cat crime and the community must be used to the extortion because I have witnessed timid park residents feed these sub feline's... Well,,, I had to resort to big firepower and bought this commercial cat repellant yesterday and it didn't faze these gangster felines because this morning I noticed fresh cat grenades in a few places and noticed a couple of real mangy looking cats still chilling with cold multi-colored eye's centered to close just a couple feet from the perimeter of repellant I laid down around my 21 footer... This stuff had some type of non toxic pepper and spice concoction that would drop a normal house cat,,, I don't know if these hood cat's are huffing cat nip or what but I am at a loss for what to do... I have read all types of internet homemade cat repellant and heard that it doesn't work and from the looks of things my 16 dollar investment didn't do much either... I love cat's but not these ally cat's,,, and I don't want to get involved with the shelter because sheriff Joe will lock them up in the old condemn Phoenix Jail which is where animals from maricopa county end up,,, I guess it's cheaper to house them in the old jail instead of building a new facility and Joe brags about the fact that the animals are fed better than the human inmates who get 2 meals a day at a cost that is less than the cost to feed an animal 3 meals in that same day here in maricopa county... What do you think of this tattoo idea? Any suggestions?
I've been playing around with different tattoo ideas to represent myself and my struggle with depression, etc. Since I was a writer, I was looking at a feather pen dripping ink that forms a heart-shaped puddle. Then, I wanted the references for the two most significant Bible verses in my life: "Jeremiah 29:11-14" and "Psalm 45:1."Lately, I've been thinking about going with a peacock feather design for the pen. I just think it would be fitting, seeing as the peacock not only represents beauty, but the ability to survive in suffering and the fact that it can also have meanings related to a phoenix definitely appeal to me. I want the ink and writing in black ink, but the feather can be in color.
Then, I was thinking about adding another element: a strand of pearls kind of looping/wrapping around the feather: mostly white with a few orange ones. The white ones represent recovery, while the orange is the color recognized for self-injury awareness. I just love the whole beauty-from-pain symbolism of the pearl. Plus the fact that the pearl represents purity and innocence appeals to me since I always see purity and innocence as a quality of childhood, and I'm very passionate about working with children. The pearl is also my Birthstone.
I'm still not sure about the design though. I like the overall idea, but I'm just not sure how it would work out.
I've never gotten a tattoo before. I figured someone here might be able to tell me if something will work as a tattoo or not... or someone can give suggestions for the design. I have the overall idea picked out, but I haven't settled on the fine details of it.

how do we lower our energy bill in a rental home?
We are renting a 1700 sq ft house that is sooooo poorly insulated, that our last bill was about $400.We live in Phoenix and the temps for summer average about 115...so the A/C is constantly running.
what are some ways we can keep the heat out?! It's a rental, so we can't very well tear down walls and insulate. So far we've tried to seal off some vents, but considering our last bill was $20 more than before we sealed them off, we need some new ideas. It basically comes down to the fact that the walls are paper thin...but if anyone knows any tips or has suggestions, we would really appreciate it!
$400 a month could be better used for food, gas or savings!

Immigration chief: 'We're going to get this right'
PHOENIX – The federal government has deported more illegal immigrants from the U.S. than ever before, the director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said Thursday as part of an effort to push back on the suggestion Washington isn't doing enough.
"For those who doubt the federal government's resolve in the enforcement of immigration law, let me say this: We are committed to strong, effective immigration enforcement, and the facts speak for themselves," ICE Director John Morton said.
He said his agency removed a record 380,000 illegal immigrants from the U.S. last fiscal year, and about a third of them were convicted criminals. So far this fiscal year, ICE removed 136,000 illegal immigrants who are convicted criminals, also a record, Morton said.
Border staffing also is at an all-time high, and will only increase under a $600 million plan by President Barack Obama to put more agents and equipment along the Mexican border, Morton said.
"You've got to have comprehensive reform that recognizes a need for strong border security, a need for strong interior enforcement, but also a means for families and workers to come here lawfully ... and an ability for people who've been here for a very long time to get right with the law by paying a fine and learning English and paying their taxes, and getting to the back of the line," Morton said.

Air conditioner not cooling efficiently. Need help solving this problem!?
I recently changed my condenser fan, but it wasn't to the correct specification. In fact, the horsepower and rpm was just under par compared to the previous expired part that I had. I'd consulted the air conditioning repair man about it and he told me it should be just fine, as the alternative was much more expensive than I could afford (the original brand name part replacement in addition to labor would of cost me $600) . But now, since it's summer, my air conditioning runs but doesn't seem to be cooling efficiently. (I usually set the thermostat at 83, but the house temperature seems to stay constant at 86 and continues to run all day until the evening hits). So, is it my condenser fan that's insufficient or is it something else, like deficient freons? And also, my electric bill came out to an outlandish $400. I live in phoenix, AZ so it's expected that the bill would soar during the summer months, but not at that rate. That meeting that including Scott O’Neil and Glen Grunwald was to iron out the numbers and finalize a deal to NY. When the Knicks finalized a deal for Amar’e Stoudemire Monday they had their first max player set, setting the stage to add another in James who seemed excited at the notion.
“I’m telling you that Amar’e swore Lebron would be a Knick 48 hours before the decision,” another source added.

According to Juan Varela's family, SB 1070 isn't just a civil rights travesty: it has also caused the death of at least one Arizona Latino.
Varela was shot dead after an argument with a white neighbor, Gary Thomas Kelley, over Arizona's harsh new anti-immigrant law. Despite the fact that Varela was a U.S. citizen — in fact, he was a third generation American — Kelley allegedly yelled before shooting Varela, "You fucking wetback! Go back to Mexico!" Back? When he was born in America? Varela's family blames the extreme anti-immigrant, anti-Latino sentiment caused by fear mongering around the passage of SB 1070 for the death of their loved one.
The Phoenix Police Department has finally decided to charge Kelley with a hate crime, after initially refusing to do so, raising the ire of Varela's family and friends
Varela's murder isn't the only one with links to SB 1070. Two other Latino men were killed near the Arizona border earlier this month, and while some reports have tried to pin the crime on drug smugglers, there are two additional details to the story that suggest otherwise.
In another violent incident this month, two men in camouflage opened fire on a group of people attempting to illegally cross the border into the United States. Police again said that it could be drug smugglers or an anti-immigrant group; my money is on the latter.

Who is better, LeBron James or Kobe Bryant?
Kobe fans: If you can come up with this much evidence.....forget it...you can't because LBJ is better.FIRST OF ALL, lets look at their playoff STATS. LeBron averaged 29.1 points in the playoffs. Kobe averaged 29.2 points. Wow. Big difference. LeBron James averaged 9.3 REBOUNDS PER GAME. Kobe only averaged 6 rebounds per game. LBJ averaged 8... ASSISTS per game. This guy is an amazing passer and team leader. He MAKES his teammates better. LeBron can set up plays like a point guard. Even if he doesn't get the assist, he contributes to the play by setting up the shot. Kobe only gets 5 assists a game, and he doesn't set the plays. In fact, let's say Kobe has to either take a very tough shot that he knows he won't make or pass it to the open Pau Gasol. He would take the shot and miss it 80% of the time. LeBron James has surpasses Kobe in the defensive end of the floor. He is a better on-ball defender, and shot blocker. LBJ gets 1.7 steals per game, while Kobe gets only 1.4. That's actually a pretty big difference when it comes to steals. LBJ is also an amazing shot blocker. LBJ gets 1.8 blocks per game, while kobe only gets 0.7. Finally, one of the most important categories to compare is field goal percentage and 3 point percentage. This is an analysis of how many shots you take and how many you make. LBJ's field goal percentage is 0.502 and his 3 point percentage is 0.400. That is very efficient. Kobe has HORRIBLE percentages. His field goal percentage is 0.458 and his 3 point percentage is 0.374. That is horrible. That means that Kobe jacks up a LOT of shots per game, but he only makes a little.
These are PLAYOFF performances. For those who say that LBJ chokes in the playoffs, well he doesn't. LeBron plays AMAZING in the playoffs. He plays way better than Kobe. The only reason the Cavs got eliminated was because LeBron's teammates chocked. Antwan Jamison, who was supposed to play great, only got 5 points. LeBron got 27 points, 10 assists and 19 rebounds in Game 6 vs the Celtics. Those are AMAZING stats, and that was a great performance by LeBron. But the Cavs lost even though LeBron played well because his teammates didn't show up. On the other hand, Kobe has amazing teammates. Kobe played HORRIBLE in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. He shot 24 SHOTS but he only made 6 of them. That is sad. And yet, the Lakers won because Pau Gasol, Ron Artest, and Derek Fisher really played well. Basketball is a team sport, not an individual sport. That is why LeBron doesn't have a championship ring. LeBron had horrible teammates who do well in the regular season, but they choke in the playoffs. LeBron played AMAZING, but his teammates FAILED and the Cavaliers lost. Kobe played HORRIBLE, but his teammates SUCCEEDED and the Lakers won.
For the people who say that Kobe is more clutch and better at last second shots, actually LeBron is better at last second shots. The only reason the Cavs didn't need last second shots was because LeBron took care of business early in the game. Instead of jacking up a last second shot to win by 1 point, the Cavs always won by 8 or 10 points. LeBron has a higher percentage of making second shots. Some people like to say LeBron quit in the playoffs. HE DID NOT QUIT. He had a triple-double in Game 6. That is an amazing feat. ONce again, the Cavs only lost because LeBron's teammates played horrible. Kobe quit in the playoffs in 2006 vs the Phoenix Suns. Look it up. Kobe is the one who quit.
Cleveland is a garbage city. No one wants to play for Cleveland. LeBron James tried really hard to convince Chris Bosh to come play with him in Cleveland, but Bosh said no. In the 1980s, Kareem Abdul Jabbar went to the Lakers to play with Magic Johnson. Scottie Pippen went to Chicago in the draft to play with Michael Jordan. Jordan and Johnson were in great positions because other great players came to play with them. BUt, LeBron's situation is different. Cleveland is a crappy town, and people didn't want to come to Cleveland. So, LeBron was forced to leave. If he stayed in Cleveland, his crappy teammates would've failed again, and he would never win a championship. So, LeBron went to Miami to play with Wade and Bosh. There's nothing wrong with having lots of help on your team. Magic Johnson is considered the 2nd best player of all time, and he had LOTS of help. He had the amazing Kareem Abdul Jabbar, and lets not forget, he had all-star James Worthy. LeBron will average a TRIPLE-DOUBLE in Miami. You know how hard that is. Kobe NEVER got a triple double. A triple double is when you get double digit assists, double digit points, and double digit rebounds. LeBron will be the PLAYMAKER in Miami. His assists will be very high. His points will remain very high, and his rebounding will go WAY up. LeBron will still have monster stats in MIAMI. LeBron will still be the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER.

All kinds of cities, businesses, celebrities, etc have chosen to boycott the state of Arizona because of thestate's new law against illegal immigration.I'm just trying to figure out where anyone believes that by boycotting business in AZ , which also boycotts work for everyone, including immigrants,legal or illegal in AZ will hurt those who make the laws. All these boycotts aren't hurting the AZ government, but are hurting the citizens and that includes citizens who are Hispanic, etc.
How does a musician hurt AZ by boycotting having any concerts there? First, the musicians are only hurting themselves by not having a concert which will bring in money for themselves. Arizonians will not suffer if some band like Rage Against the Machine doesn't perform in AZ. In fact, what if those who are fans of musicians boycotting AZ are those who oppose the AZ immigration law. They are the ones who are losing out. Not the AZ goverment or businesses. Concert venues won't suffer financially just because a few performers cancel their concerts in AZ. There are all kinds of others that will take their place.
Then you may have the opposite effect. Where some people may boycott AZ, there are others who may now go to Arizona because they now respect AZ for their stance against illegal immigration.
In fact, news reports have shown that in spite of the boycott threats, there has been an increase in business in the Phoenix area.
Not suprising since the MAJORITY of the people of AZ, support laws that are against illegal immigration.

PHOENIX, Arizona (AFP) – Arizona Governor Jan Brewer said Wednesday she would swiftly appeal a judge's ruling blocking key parts of a new state immigration law, vowing to take it all the way to the Supreme Court."This fight is far from over. In fact, it is just the beginning, and at the end of what is certain to be a long legal struggle, Arizona will prevail in its right to protect our citizens," Brewer said in a statement.
She said the state would soon file an expedited appeal after District Judge Susan Bolton blocked parts of the law which would have given police the power to check the immigration status of all suspects.
Bolton also suspended parts of the law, which goes into effect on Thursday, requiring everyone to carry proof of their residency status and making it a crime for illegal immigrants to seek work.
Brewer signed the legislation into law in April and has argued that it is needed to battle a tide of illegal immigrants flooding into the state across the border with Mexico, blamed also for a spiralling crime wave.
"I will battle all the way to the Supreme Court, if necessary, for the right to protect the citizens of Arizona," Brewer said.
She said the law "represents another tool for our state to use as we work to address a crisis we did not create and the federal government has actively refused to fix."
But judge Bolton, who is hearing seven lawsuits challenging the legislation, wrote in her ruling that the Obama administration was likely to succeed in its argument that responsibility for immigration policy lies with the federal government.
"The court by no means disregards Arizona's interests in controlling illegal immigration and addressing the concurrent problems with crime including the trafficking of humans, drugs, guns and money," she wrote.
But she insisted "it is not in the public interest for Arizona to enforce preempted laws" which are set by the federal government.

PHOENIX — As the days tick down until the Arizona immigration law takes effect, the state stands as a monument to the anger over illegal immigration that is present in so many places.The anger has been simmering for years, and erupted into a full-blown fury with the murder of a prominent rancher on the border earlier this year. The killing became a powerful rallying cry for immigration reform and the sweeping new law set to take effect Thursday, barring any last-minute legal action.
But it does not tell the whole story about how Arizona got to this point.
Turn on the evening news in Arizona and some report reflecting the state's battle with illegal immigration will likely flash across the screen.
A drop house crammed with illegal border-crossers smack in the middle of a suburban neighborhood. Traffic patrols and workplace raids that net the arrest of dozens of illegal immigrants, often in heavily Hispanic communities. Politicians speaking venomously about border violence and the leech of immigration costs on the state treasury.
Along the streets, Arizonans see day laborers near Wal-Mart and Home Depot parking lots, waiting for work. In some Phoenix-area neighborhoods, Spanish is so predominant both in spoken word and signage that residents complain they feel like they're in a foreign country.
Then rancher Robert Krentz was gunned down in March while checking water lines on his property near the border. Authorities believe — but have never produced substantive proof — that an illegal immigrant, likely a scout for drug smugglers, was to blame.
Almost immediately Krentz came to symbolize what's at stake with illegal immigration. Politicians quickly connected the dots, but everyday folks also spoke with anger and fear about the rancher's death.
"You can't ignore the damage and the costs to the taxpayers and the disrespect that comes with it and those who think they have a right to break our laws," says Russell Pearce, the fiery state senator who wrote Arizona's new immigration law.
Pearce, in fact, is the godfather of anti-illegal immigration sentiment in Arizona and author of many of the tough laws.
He regularly depicts illegal immigration as an "invasion." He can tick off the names of police officers killed or wounded by criminals in the country illegally.
One of those names is that of his son, Maricopa County Sheriff's Deputy Sean Pearce, who survived a gunshot wound to the abdomen from an illegal immigrant in 2004 while serving a search warrant in a homicide case.
That might explain Pearce's indefatigable effort against those entering the country illegally, but he says he held tough views before his son was shot. He insists that his frustration centers more broadly on the crime that immigrant smugglers bring into the country and the financial stress that illegal border-crossers put on communities.
Between 40 percent and 50 percent of all immigrant arrests each year on the U.S.-Mexico border are made in Arizona, according to the U.S. Border Patrol.
And the annual costs? About $600 million for educating illegal immigrants at K-12 schools, more than $120 million for jailing illegal immigrants convicted of state crimes and as much as $50 million that hospitals have to eat for treating illegal border-crossers, according to figures provided by Superintendent of Public Instruction Tom Horne, Gov. Jan Brewer's office and the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association.
At Copper Queen Community Hospital, 4 miles north of the border in Bisbee, the emergency room sees one or two illegal immigrants every shift. Dr. Daniel Roe, the emergency-room medical director, says many come in with broken bones from jumping the 15-foot-tall border fence, others suffer from walking for days in the desert with little to no water, and others have been involved in car accidents.
"It's very much part of our normal flow," he says. "But it demands resources. So it affects the operating budget."

Hispanic GOP group backs Arizona immigration law
A group of Arizona Republicans on Wednesday became the nation's first Latino organization to back the state's immigration law, setting the stage for a heated, and potentially emotional, showdown within the Hispanic community.
The Arizona Latino Republican Association filed in federal court a motion to intervene with the Department of Justice's lawsuit against SB 1070, which is being heard in a Phoenix courtroom. The department is arguing that only the federal government has the authority to enact immigration laws.
Another lawsuit against Arizona is also getting its day in court Thursday. The second one argues that the law could lead to racial profiling by police, who will have the authority to question the citizenship of any person "reasonably suspected" of being in the country illegally.
Jesse Hernandez, chairman of ALRA and the son of legal immigrants, sees this as a purely states' rights issue and is prepared to take on the federal government over its "backward" priorities.
"I'm challenging the Obama administration first and foremost," he said. "As a state, when the government fails to do their job, the state has the right to protect its boundaries and its citizens. It's shameful that the Obama administration is wasting all these resources attacking legislation that is following standard immigration law."
Recently, Hernandez says he has seen an uptick in what he calls "closet conservative Latinos" coming out in support of the immigration law. Most of them, he says, are immigrants or children of immigrants who entered the United States legally and are proud of obtaining their citizenship through established channels.
"When they became natural citizens, you could not believe the joy and happiness," he said. "They had to work for it; it was an ambition. It's like getting a college degree."
Still, ALRA's endorsement of the immigration law has not come without consequences. Hernandez has received threatening phone calls and hate mail from people questioning "what kind of Mexican [he] is." He tries to explain that his parents are from Mexico and that he was born in the border town of Nogales; but, to many, his support of SB 1070 is unfathomable.
"I'm not surprised," Arturo Vargas, executive director of the National Association of Latino Elected Officials, said of the animosity being directed at Hernandez and ALRA. "They represent the minute minority of the individuals in the Latino community. Poll after poll, survey after survey of the Latino population shows near unanimity in opposition of the law."
A recent LatinoMetrics poll shows that eight in 10 Latinos disapprove of SB 1070. Of those surveyed, 20 percent said they would be less likely to report a major crime such as assault if a similar law is passed in their state. The number climbs up to 30 percent for minor crimes such as theft. Perhaps more telling is that since 2009, immigration has jumped into the top four issues of personal concern among Latinos, tied with jobs and the economy.
Vargas sees ALRA's endorsement as more of a fluke than a growing trend among Latinos. Stationed at the Phoenix courtroom, he said the vast majority of protesters outside the building appear to be Hispanics waving American flags but also wielding cultural symbols like the Virgin of Guadalupe, traditionally a peaceful symbol.
But Hernandez has found support from at least one like-minded Latino — the only Hispanic, in fact, to vote in favor of the law, state Rep. Steve Montenegro. Also the son of legal immigrants, he has openly supported the immigration law from the beginning and often touts his legal entry into the United States at the age of 18 as proof that current immigration practices do work.

Washington, DC -- Hidden cameras have captured a startling stream of illegal immigrants and drug runners traveling freely from Mexico into the United States through federal forest and game preserves in southern Arizona.The stealth footage is featured in a new video, titled “Hidden Cameras on the Arizona Border 2: Drugs, Guns, and 850 Illegal Aliens,” that the Center for Immigration Studies released Thursday.
Southern Arizona “has become almost a playground for smugglers,” said Janice Kephart, the center’s national security policy director. “Federal lands should be the starting point — not the last point — for border security.”
The video, which runs nearly 10 minutes, features dramatic footage of lines of individuals moving resolutely northward in such areas as the Coronado National Forest and the Casa Grande Sector, just miles north of the Arizona-Mexico border.
Collected from hidden cameras in February and March, the footage — edited for the shorter feature — documents at least 850 illegal immigrants and nine drug couriers. It also reveals ongoing damage to the protected wilderness areas through trash and other destruction.
Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer has said that U.S. policies have resulted in the state’s being ''under attack'' from Mexican drug and immigrant-smuggling cartels. Those at the film's premiere concurred with that assessment.
These people do not come here “to pick tomatoes,” said Rep. Rob Bishop, R-Utah, the ranking Republican on the House subcommittee that oversees national parks, forests and public lands. “These are drug smugglers, human traffickers, and terrorists.”
Bishop is pushing legislation that will permit the border patrol and Homeland Security to police the borders in national parks and forests, which is prohibited now.
The law change is “a common-sense, no-brainer for us,” said Bishop, who decried the fact that the House and the Senate have passed language to enact the change — but in different pieces of legislation in which neither side can find a compromise.
“First things first,” Bishop said. “You are never going to be able to move forward for any other type of immigration” reform without securing the border and halting the illegal flow.
The video released Thursday, the second in a series the Center for Immigration Studies has produced, includes a 2004 federal government PowerPoint presentation showing the near-complete devastation of a borderland national park because of illegal immigrant activity.
It also shows a 2001 federal report that details the locations of the illegal trails that immigrants caught on the hidden cameras use — underscoring the federal government’s apparent inaction to combat the illegal flow on pathways still used for criminal purposes.
Obtaining public information and federal documents was a near Quixotic task, Kephart said. It took years to get some of the information, she said, adding that she eventually gave up and went to the border to do the reporting.
The film was released the same day that Florida, Texas, and seven other states filed a brief supporting Arizona's immigration law aimed at cracking down on illegal immigrants after the U.S. government sued to block its enforcement.
The states’ filing in a federal court in Phoenix insisted that Arizona's statute does not establish an immigration policy that would interfere with federal law.
“The federal government seeks to negate this pre-existing power of the states to verify a person's immigration status and similarly seeks to reject the assistance that the states can lawfully provide to the federal government,” the states wrote.
The United States sued Arizona on July 6, arguing that immigration is a matter only for federal policy, under the Constitution. The lawsuit seeks an injunction barring Arizona from enforcing the law, which is set to take effect on July 29.

I attend University of Phoenix and I just received a letter stating that I owe them over $7,000 from last semester. I've already completed these courses and my loans have already been disbursed and the refund was sent back to me a long time ago. The reason they said that I owed this amount is because my husband was not active duty military at that particular time and I didn't qualify for the discount that they gave me. If they would have given me a correct amount in the beginning I would have applied for it during that time. It just seems like I shouldn't be obligated to pay this amount after the fact. Does anyone know my options of rectifying this problem other than trying to pay over $7,000.00 that I DO NOT have???In response to Belie, I did not lie. I just was not informed that it had to be throughout the entire course period and wasn't taking his retirement date into consideration. I was actually under the impression that because he was active duty through the 4 years of me attending UOP it would not affect my financial aid as they never asked about his ending date of the military. When working with a financial aid counselor, I would have expected him/her to do their job effectively and EFFICIENTLY which is to ensure that their thousands of students all proper have proper documentation. Especially since that is a part of their JOB which is the reason why the college is paying them. Not to mention, I didn't receive a notification until now. Seems like universities may need to up their quality of staff members if they can't handle their job or need their students to double check their work.

Directly after the kick out Edgehead began crawling to get away from Extreme again, but Extreme was able to grab a hold of wires from the cameras and began choking Edgehead out with them. Fans cheered as the ref tried to get Extreme to stop while at the same time seeing if Edgehead was going to quit. Edgehead still fought though and crawled toward the announce table. She then picked up a bottle of water and threw the water out at Extreme. Blinded for a moment, Extreme released her grip on Edgehead and Edgehead was able to run and connect with an impactful clothesline. Extreme was down and Edgehead got a pin only to have Extreme also kick out at 2. Edgehead got up and booted Extreme right in her face. Extreme was down and fans cheered as Edgehead pulled out a table. She began setting it up on the outside until Extreme nailed her across the spine with a kendo stick. Fans cheered and Extreme threw Edgehead back into the ring where she entered and continued to whale Edgehead across her body with the kendo stick. After the damage was done she left the ring and brought a steel chair back in with her. She set it up in the center of the ring while Edgehead was approaching her feet. As soon as she was up Extreme pushed her back in hopes she would come running for her, which she did. That’s when Extreme hit a drop toehold sending Edgehead face 1st into the chair. Fans gasped twice. Once for that and the other was when Extreme legdropped Edgehead’s face up against the chair to add more pain. Extreme then pushed it to the side keeping it still in it’s sitting stance and got a pin. 1, 2, and another kick out. Extreme however managed to easily keep her cool and pulled Edgehead back up. But Edgehead was ready and sent Extreme’s fact into the top frame of the chair still set up. With Extreme clutching her eye, Edgehead was able to connect with a fallaway slam. With Extreme down, Edgehead picked the chair up and folded before beginning to push it down upon the throat of Extreme to choke her out. The ref pleaded with Extreme to stop but she was relentless. After several seconds of choking out Extreme, Extreme was able to break the choke at the very last second by using all the power she could muster to push the chair off her throat and send it flying into the face of Edgehead. Edgehead was dazed as the chair fell to the mat and Extreme had time to get her breath back. When she was ready to go back at it Edgehead was still stumbling around and Extreme was able to run and hit a bulldog on Edgehead sending her face down onto the chair. Edgehead fell to the outside and Extreme bought herself more time to rest. She rested up enough and at that moment Edgehead was getting up. That’s when Extreme vaulted over the top rope and dove onto Edgehead. Fans cheered and chanted her name as she got another pin on the outside. 1, 2, and a kick out. Both women were down on the floor but there was no doubt Extreme was in control. She was up while Edgehead was pulling herself up with help from the barricade. Extreme then clotheslined her over the barricade and into the fans. Fans spread out as Extreme followed Edgehead and fought through the fans to get to her. After roaming around the fans for a few seconds Extreme was able to get Edgehead cornered with the barricade again and she clotheslined her back over. Fans cheered as the match was only 5 minutes in and it was already a chaotic scene. Edgehead was hurt and on the floor and Extreme capitalize by pulling off a big section of padding from the floor leaving it completely exposed to cement! She brought Edgehead up and fans reached their feet and went wild as Extreme scoop slammed Edgehead onto the hard cement! These women were destroying each other all for the Women’s Title. Extreme pulled Edgehead up and decided to put her in the ring for the pin. 1, 2, and a kick out. Extreme looked stunned after the kick out but again stayed as calm as she could. But she knew she had to bust out something big to get a win so she pulled Edgehead up and prepared for a Twist of Fate.

For the first quarter of 2010, violent crime was down 17% overall in the city, while homicides were down 38% and robberies 27%, compared with the same period in 2009.Arizona’s major cities all registered declines. You guys are idiots if you think Kobe is better than Lebron.I'm not a Lebron guy or Kobe guy either. In fact, I hate them both. I'm a Spurs/Wizards fan.
1. If Kobe and Lebron traded places (meaning Lebron was in LA and Kobe was in Cleveland), how good do you think the Lakers would be? The Lebron led Lakers would be at least two times as good as a Kobe led team.
2. Lebron's 2007 team was terrible. The Cavs' second best player was Bobbie Gibson for crying out loud. I remember that year as if it were yesterday. It was amazing to watch how Lebron willed his team to victory. Heck, the Cavs 2008-2010 teams weren't even that good. Sure, they had some good role players in West, Williams, and Parker -- but you wouldn't argue that they had the same depth as Utah, San Antonio, LA, Boston, Orlando, Dallas, Oklahoma City, Atlanta, or Phoenix. Lebron was just that good.
3. Without Gasol, Bynum, and Artest, Kobe couldn't even make it to the playoffs. And even he did make the playoffs, he couldn't even close out a 3-1 series lead over the Suns. Without a good team, Kobe hasn't done anything.
Granted, Kobe has won 5 titles. He's an amazing player, but from an individual standpoint, Lebron is better.
Please refute my three points... I'm begging you to... and don't bring up the fact that Kobe has 5 titles because I've already acknowledged that and have lent credence to that fact.

I been having the same dream for a week now. But it is unlike any dream I had before?
It has something to do with all 5 of my schools I went too. Inside it looked like the middle school I went to in Phoenix On the Outside it looks like the elementary school I went to in Wyoming. The staff is of that of my Junior High but with the kids that I went to school with in High School from Wyoming. But what my dream centers around in a crush I had of a girl I had in my other High School in Phoenix. Just to clear things up I went to elementary in WY, then Junior High in WY, then Middle School in Phoenix, Then High School in Phoenix, Then back to my Junior High in WY, then High School in WY, then I graduated.[My middle school went to 8th grade and my Junior High went to 9th grade just in case that confused you]
Now my dream
School ended and I was walking out of my school and when I was outside at the school park walking home. Then out of no where their was this girl and a fat friend of hers. The girl was like I said just like the one I had a crush on in Phoenix. I was nervous to talk to her at first so I talked to her fat friend ashamed that I could not talk to her. Her friend and I moved away from her and the fat girl said that her friend, the one I like, had a crush on me as well. Next thing I remember I was talking to the girl I like and making jokes. I forgot to mention at my elementary school their is a bridge when you walk across the park. After a little while we got on the bridge and we were separated from her fat friend and it was just her and myself standing next to each other on top of the bridge sharing jokes and getting to know the other one watching traffic go by. We then hold hands and talked some more tell the sky looked orange. Out of know where her fat friend showed up and we decided to race when the bridge started going down. I won the race and she came next with her fat friend in last. For some weird reason the girl I liked disappeared and it was just me and the fat girl. She put both hands on my cheeks so it looked like I had fish lips and she laughed and then the dream ended.
This is the weird part
The girl I like had the same looks as the one I went to High school with in Phoenix and we were good friends
Had the same name as another girl I liked at my middle school
The holding hands part came from a girl I went to elementary with when we crossed the bridge with but I used to race her when I the bridge started going down.
I forgot to mentioned when the fat girl told me that the girl I liked, liked me she blew a kiss at me just like a girl from my Junior High
Lastly when the fat girl put my checks together t was just like when this girl who was not fat but did the same thing to me at a party I was at but I did not like her.
Also I never dated those girls that represented the girls in my dreams. In fact I never dated before. So it is depressing when I wake up from it.

They were plagued with w/ injuries. Amare Stoudemire played 55 games, Stephon Marbury played 34 games, & Penny Hardaway played 34 games. That's 3 of their starters missing a total of 123 games.
They had 2 different coaching systems to adjust to. Before Mike D'Antoni came and took over they had Frank Johnson up until 12/10/03. So the 2003-04 Suns were less stable before Nash's arrival.
Amare Stoudemire was still a young talent who was improving. It was his 2nd season and he was only 21 years old...and the same with Joe Johnson.
Facts about the 2004-05 Suns: Nash's arrival..
Amare Stoudemire was a year older, more improved, & he played in 80 games vs 55. Joe Johnson was a year older & more improved.
They acquired Quentin Richardson who contributed 14.9ppg (b-4 joining Suns he averaged 17.6ppg) and they acquired veteran Jimmy Jackson who was a solid bench player at the time.
They had a stable coaching system w/ Mike D'Antoni being the only coach. The players didn't have to adjust to two different coaching systems.
So the 2004-05 Suns was more stable w/ 1 coaching staff, they were healthy (starters didn't miss 123 games) , Amare/Joe improved, they improved thier bench (vet Jackson), and they added 2 important pieces (Nash & Q-Rich).
So that's how a 29 win team turned into a 62 win team. Steve Nash is highly overrated and didn't deserve that MVP. I can't believe how people ignore the FACTS and give Nash total credit for that teams turn around.
